Option One – The Design Doctor Makes House Calls…Via Internet or Phone

The process is user friendly.  Send an e-mail to cue me up as to what your specific needs and concerns. I’ll provide a short but accurate answer to your question and point you to articles already posted on the site that might address your concerns.

Need more help?
If you have an on-going project that you are developing over time we can get the job done on-line.

The initial process is the same.  You’ll just have more questions and issues to be addressed.  Depending on how complex the issue or how large the project you would like to address this way is, photos may be needed.

We will agree in advance to “time-segments” I’ll need to answer your questions so you won’t have a “surprise” bill. Follow-up phone calls for fine-tuning add to the process of satisfaction with your results.

The hourly fee is $150, pro-rated to the time I spend to help you.

You choose the amount of time for each session and pay in advance via PayPal.

Benefits

• I help you clarify your ideas and how to achieve them by developing a game plan with you.
• We pinpoint and resolve your questions, such as how to disguise “unfortunate architecture”, dark living spaces, low ceilings, small rooms, etc.
• Determine best furniture arrangement options, as well as asses when to reupholster, refinish, “re-purpose” or to buy new.

Plus

• I’ll direct you to specific articles posted on my site that give you detailed information on your particular concerns.  These articles are so complete they are the next best thing to a live conversation with me.
• I have accumulated hundreds of resources for “all things home” over the years and I’ll be passing along “links of interest” as they pertain to you.

Option Two – The Short Complete Meeting In Your Home

Consultation(s) by the Hour
You would love to talk to a design professional, but really, you have only a few issues to discuss, and don’t want to make a “big deal” about decorating.  Just the same, you don’t know what to do to resolve the questions you have, and you don’t want to make costly mistakes.  One consultation can provide the answers you need to your home decorating questions.   It will provide you with advice, a master plan, and resources for you to be confidently on your way.

You may also choose to consult with me on a continuing basis as you complete the steps we’ve discussed in your initial project outline.

Alternatively, this same initial consultation can also be the launching pad for designing and organizing a more detailed and comprehensive project for creating a beautiful home.

The hourly fee is $150 for each consultation

Due upon completion of the session, unless our project will be developed step by step over time.

Benefits: Same as Option One Plus

• I recommend retail resources, online sources and service people.
• I provide telephone and e-mail support to help you along.

Option Three – The Movable Feast of Collaborative Shopping and Consultation

Shopping by the Hour
The consultation continues…on the road.  You’d like to buy a few new pieces and refurbish/rearrange others and you’d like some help editing and coordinating.  You could use an advisor on a shopping adventure that knows her way around.

We prepare to shop quickly and effectively with an initial consultation to discover what you want and need as well as determining an over-all sense of your taste and style.  We develop a clear game plan, and assess whether or not floor plans/elevations with recommended furniture arrangements will be required to fully understand the finished picture.   At this point, we are ready to explore the best stores, vendors and resources for your plans, and I will help guide you to the beautiful coordinated results you desire.  Payment for shopping is by the hour as above and will be due at the end of the session or billed along with a percentage of the net cost for purchases as agreed per purchase.  Floor plans and/or elevations are billed separately.

Benefits:

• Access to trade showroom as well as retail stores (where I often am extended a designer discount as well)
• Discounted pricing – 10% to 50%
• Exposure to great stores and products that you haven’t known about before
• Your “legwork” is minimized
• Orders are placed for you and monitored on your behalf until delivery

The hourly fee is $150

This applies for each shopping expedition, and is due upon completion of the session, unless our project will be developed step by step over time.

For any format you choose, I’ll give you the rationale behind my suggestions, so you will clearly understand why one proposed choice is preferable over another choice.

Principals of good design have a foundation in logic.  Though inspiration can occur at any time in the process, great solutions regarding design, use, fit or color are never arrived at by random accident…

No matter which plan or options you choose, the end product will be a beautiful home you love to come home to.
